Bio//Contact

JuniorBorn and raised in Texas and now residing in Arizona, I published my first work Purgatory – 13 Tales of the Macabre and Floor Four – A Novella of Horror in 2011. I am also writing the Night Dreams Series with episodes to be released every couple of months. I chose the Horror genre for the first few books, and have plans to write in different genres with short stories, novellas, and novels. I have a column “Ask AJ” which appears in the All Authors Magizine, and I have had short stories published in Dark River Press, The Sirens Call ezine Issue #14 and the anthologies State of Horror Illinois by Charon Coin Press and Concordant Vibrancy by All Authors Publishing.

I have been writing for several years and over that time, many ideas have come to mind. I will test my writing in different genres, with my favorite one being horror.  I am currently  working on three different projects. “Purgatory”, my first release, is a short story collection based in the horror/macabre genre. It  contains 13 short stories that I hope will scare you, make you think, and most of all, entertain you. If it does any of the three, then I feel I have done my job. It was released in October 2011 and should make a nice companion to go along with your Halloween festivities. I feel horror stories should be read at night, in a dark room, with the soft glow of a reading light being your only friend and the only barrier between you and that dark corner of the room; the one you keep glancing at every time you hear a strange noise. In that setting, your mind will let your senses take in your surroundings. Every sound will be magnified, and every shadow will move as you absorb each word  delivered to your mind’s eye. That is the best way to enjoy a story of horror, in my opinion.  Just food for thought.
This is my first attempt at making my writing ‘official‘. Times have changed and it is easier for the working-man to put his thoughts onto paper and into the fast-moving digital market of eBooks. I will also release  print versions of my books. Of my other projects, one will be in the horror genre and the other will be in a totally different field. I may throw you a curve ball with that one.

  1. Bonjour Mr. Lopez
    My name is Bruce Paterson,
On the 22nd of May, 2014 I received an email stating that iTunes gives me an iBook. It was purgatory by yourself.
I must of been chosen by Rob Walsh
    from “Today and iOS”.
    Thank you very much.
Of my issue is that it is only redeemable in the US iTunes store but I am in Canada.
    How can we rectify this?
Thank you very much for your time.
    Bruce Paterson Québec, Canada

  2. Hello Mr.lopez I got a copy of floor four, not knowing that the book setting was in baytown, when i read it i was completely putting my town in the story…then to find out every detail was of the baytown abandon hospital. I decided to look you up and let you know i love the book and you caught the essence of the area down to the library. I look forward to reading more of your story’s and novels.

    1. Thank you, Gabriela, for reading Floor Four. I’m glad you enjoyed the novella and the setting. I am a Baytown native and try to use my hometown in different ways in some of my stories. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments or feedback. Alopezjr@ace-hil-ink.com
